Nighttime encounter with an unknown creature in the yard of a private house
Notestrong language
The story happened to me at the very beginning of September '20, when I'd just started uni and began living with my parents in a private house. Anyway, at night (it was around one) I really needed to go to the toilet, and it's outside. I was texting a friend at the time and just went like that, phone in hand, not seeing anything around me. I walked calmly until there were about 5 meters left. But at some point I look up and notice that halfway along the remaining path there's something unclear standing there. I can describe it, but very roughly, because my eyesight back then was -1.5, I hadn't gotten glasses yet. It looked just like a little post about a meter tall, with glowing eyes and the body was probably white, because it was noticeable in the dark. It wasn't moving so at first I didn't even register what was going on and just turned my phone screen toward it (very smart, the brightness was on minimum). At that same moment it bolted from the spot and shot across the whole yard - this shit just up and covered about 15 meters in three jumps. I got so scared that I backed away and pressed myself against the wall of the summer kitchen nearby. I stood like that for about 20 seconds, thinking where the fuck am I supposed to go? I needed the toilet, but it seemed better to go back home now. In the end, I ran into the house and only dared to go out to the toilet an hour later. After that, it never appeared again, but even now I'm afraid to walk without a flashlight. To this day, I can't understand what it was. I want to believe it was just an escaped pet kangaroo...
