Elderly Whisper in the Family Home After Grandfather's Funeral

Sup, snach. I'm gonna write up a creepy one that happened to me a couple months ago. Usually I just read this stuff, but this time it happened to me for the first time. It was in what's like the ancestral nest of our family. The story of the house's construction itself started with my great-grandfather, I think, deciding to open an inn, and for the construction he needed permission from the village elders. They told him to go to the cemetery at night, saying the ancestors would give him answers there. Well, he knocked back a drink, went, and fell asleep there. The dead came to him in a dream and gave the go-ahead, saying now you'll be the keeper of this land and only your descendants will be able to live here. Well, and that's basically how it turned out, apparently, because if anyone who wasn't a blood relative spent the night there, the local domovoi wouldn't let them sleep. Either he'd scare them, or throw them off the bed. My sister saw this domovoi herself and described him as a short old man in white. And a bunch of other stories that I was pretty skeptical about, ranging from a witch who knocked on the window to people who'd just appear out of nowhere on the old path by the house.

Well, I didn't really believe all those stories until I ran into it myself. Our grandfather died, whom I of course barely knew, but mom loved him, so I went with her to comfort her. We decided to stay in that very house. My uncle lives in it. And one night I couldn't fall asleep, I was tossing and turning + I'd psyched myself out. I seemed to calm down, closed my eyes, cat lying at my feet. And then I hear a distinct old man's whisper in my ear: "So how are you?", after which, a second later, the cat jumps up and starts running around the room. To say I was fucking shocked is to say nothing. That's how it is :/
